Such an epic morning! Rainbows everywhere as we paddled out and scaled to the top of Chinaman's Hat. Light rains and atmospheric conditions made this all feel like pure magic! Finished up the adventure with a quick beach cleanup to show gratitude for this amazing place and enjoyed a calming visit to the Valley of the Temples. A great way to close out the decade! Now its onwards and upwards to the next decade and beyond! Happy New Years everyone!!

Had a great day yesterday cleaning the beach at Kahuku, Pounders, and Kahana Bay. Hardly any one out. Windy and rainy but as always totally gorgeous and plenty of opala washing in that needs to be removed from the shore. Grab a bucket and some buddies and get after it folks! Beach cleaning with the pups today in super high winds gusting 40-60 mph!
An absurd amount of plastic washing ashore today. Grab some buckets and some buddies and get after it folks. Here's your chance to get 'all that trash!' Such an epic day cleaning the beaches with a world class crew!! Made clean sweeps of Kahana Bay, Pounders, and hauled ghost nets and plastics over a mile out of Kahuku! Grab some buddies and some buckets and get after it folks! Great sunrise beach cleanup today on NS. Hauled out a bunch of plastics and a large ghost net.
Forgot my knife so had to haul the net out in its entirety. No easy feat but stoked to have it off the shoreline and away from the reef and marine life! Cleaning Kahuku on Sunday morning. All are welcome. Message us if interested! - [email protected]. Did you know that the ocean produces almost 75% of the world's oxygen?
Plastic pollution is slowly but surely choking out the ocean and starving it of oxygen. This crime against nature is also a crime against ourselves. In the end, we will all become victims to our own inability to choose long term health over short term convenience. I suppose this faulty wiring in humans means we were meant to go extinct. Id rather see us make the sacrifices now however and just stop using that unnecessary plastic. But I suppose that's just me... After a long day of work it felt great to head up to the North Shore for a last minute sunset beach cleanup! So satisfying in fact, that I kept cleaning late into the night and made a virtual clean sweep of that stretch of coastline at Kahuku. This is what Fridays look like at 36 lol...! Note the obvious bite marks on this plastic bottle from fish mistaking this plastic as food. So tragic...
Cleaning the beaches out at remote Kahuku yesterday. Ghost nets, buoys, and plastic as far as the eye can see...out at the ends of the Earth, witnessing the end of the Earth... Had a great time cleaning up and even found a perfectly good knife buried in the sand. Afterwards I met some local fisherman who are in their 60s and 70s and we talked story about the changes they've seen to this once pristine strip of shoreline. I wonder how bad it'll be when I'm 60... |
